In a world where society is made up of two species: Feathers and Fur, Samuel is a rare hybrid who gets into a lot of awkward situations as he navigates a world not built for someone like him in mind.

“Feathers and Fur” is a 5.5-minute Student Capstone short produced at ArtCenter College of Design, directed and produced by Frenchie Mariñas and co-produced by Wen Tong-Everitt. Utilizing the team’s strengths in 2D hand-drawn animation and motion graphics, this became one of ArtCenter’s most efficient running production, being the first Capstone project to finish a whole semester early, given the deadline of December 2025 and completing in May of that year.

Just recently, “Feathers and Fur” was selected as a finalist in PBS SoCal’s Fine Cut Film Festival, nominated in L.A. Indies Fest, and was featured in the Student Showcase of the 2025 Animation is Film Festival.
